Beyond the Fence Line presented by Sonoma County Farm Bureau

 Are you prepared for an activist targeting your farm, ranch or business? Few are. Don’t wait until you are in an unfortunate situation to realize you don’t have the tools you need to prepare for and manage activists. Attend this event to hear from communication strategists, a local farmer, law enforcement, and legal experts to learn about how to prepare for and manage activists.

Speakers Include: 
Hannah Thompson-Weeman – Animal Agriculture Alliance
In her role as Vice President of Communications, Hannah develops and implements the communications strategy for the Animal Agriculture Alliance, a nationwide, industry-united nonprofit organization working to bridge the communication gap between farm and fork.

Mike Weber – Weber Family Farms & Sunrise Farms
Mike is a fourth generation Sonoma County poultry farmer from Weber Family Farms in Petaluma. Mike and his brother Scott own and operate the family farm that has produced farm fresh eggs and organic fertilizer since 1912.

Brian Sobel – Sobel Communications
Brian is the principal consultant for Sobel Communications in Petaluma. He was News Director for two radio stations and worked for a major corporation as a writer, training consultant and video producer. Brian was a governor appointee to the Sonoma-Marin Fair Board (4th District Agricultural Association) where he served as board president during his nine years of service. 

Tina Wallis – Law Offices of Tina Wallis
Ms. Wallis is a land use and environmental attorney in Santa Rosa. She helps public and private sector clients successfully navigate permits and compliance with environmental laws throughout California.

Assistant Sheriff Clint Shubel
Clint joined the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office in 1997 where he worked as a Deputy Sheriff. Clint held collateral assignments such as SWAT team member and Field Training Officer. In 2017, he was promoted to Assistant Sheriff and now oversees the Law Enforcement Division of the Sheriff’s Office.
